Seabass Cycles
Peckham, London, UK
What are the names of the owners of your shop?
Sam and Charlie

How did you both get into cycling?
As kids we both, Charlie and Sam started bikes form a young age, one of us with BMX bike and the other riding dirt jumps. This got the passion for cycling started. Both of worked in bike shops from the age of around 14 and have done so ever since. It was a natural movement to open our own shop.
How long has Seabass Cycles been open?
11 years.
What is your shop’s mission statement?
To create and curate a shop full of interesting brands and products. I wanted to make a shop that I myself would want to visit and have as a local bike shop. We sell some high end bikes and products but do it in a relaxed atmosphere. We try and create a nice place to be for the staff and a relaxed environment for customers.
What makes your shop different than other shops?
We started our shop as two riders, two mechanics, and friends. Over the years, we’ve gathered a collection of niche brands and unique bikes, both to sell and others just to admire.
We stock brands and models you won’t find in most London shops, and our reputation for top-notch wheel building has earned us a loyal following from riders across the city. Whether it’s heavy-duty MTB or BMX wheels, or lightweight carbon road sets, we build them all with precision and care.
With so many bike shops in London, we know it’s important to offer something special that brings customers through our doors. That’s why we carry brands like Ritchey, which draw in riders looking for quality and innovation.

Why did you choose to carry Ritchey products?
Ritchey makes some amazing frames and components and has a rich history in the cycling industry. Tom’s work in frame building and pioneering the early days of mountain biking is something I have immense respect for. The Ritchey name has been around for a long time and it's nice to support such a legendary brand and be part of its ongoing story.
What is your favourite Ritchey product?
It has to be the Outback. What an amazing frame. We have sold plenty of them and they never disappoint. From the aesthetic side to the functionality and ride, they are spot on!
Sam has one built up with a flat bar set up and it is so much fun. I am big fan of the design of the Break-Away frames. They are so cool. We have built a few for people and they are always really impressed with them.
