What are the names of the owners of your shop?
At the shop, you’ll usually find Matthieu, Lucie, Adrien, and Robin. But also, our two four-legged mascots, Aldo and Roukie.

How did you get into cycling, personally?
First and foremost, we’re cyclists. We’re into bike travel, gear, and all things cycling. Some of us are gear-geeks, some are more adventurous, but that shared passion is what led us to create Le Rifugio – a place where we could actually earn a living from what we love doing. It’s the base camp for Massacan and for all the brands that feel like us: Ritchey obviously, Ultradynamico, Growtac, Ingrid, Miche, Topeak, Dynamic, Cascada, Estique, etc.

For how many years has Le Rifugio been in business?
Since 2024.

What is your shop’s mission statement?
We wanted to open a place that really reflects who we are. Bikes everywhere, beautiful parts, components, and small brands we genuinely like and recommend to our customers. Most of all, we wanted a cool place where everyone feels welcome. Basically, we created the shop we wish had existed when we first got into cycling.

What makes your shop different from other shops?
Maybe the pink shutters…but not only that. The whole Massacan universe is very colorful. As soon as you walk into Le Rifugio, you can tell it’s not a regular bike shop. The ceiling is full of bike frames and wheels, the walls too. It used to be an old grocery store, and we kept the original shelves and crates, raw, authentic, no fuss.

We’re also the finish line for the Torino Nice Rally. For us, it’s a legendary route we’d been dreaming about long before Le Rifugio existed. With its founder, James, we didn’t want to change a thing, just welcome riders, even with dirty bikes, and listen to their stories.

Why did you choose to carry Ritchey products?
First of all, Ritchey is a real symbol for us. Tom rides like we do, if not more, and he builds bikes the way we like them, so it just makes sense. The history of Tom and the Klunkers crew really inspires us and feels close to our own mindset. And today, Ritchey still offers a well thought out range of components for every style and budget. That’s exactly what we want to offer our customers and the components we ride ourselves.

What is your favorite Ritchey product?
As a mechanic, the RL1 stem. Perfect for semi-integrated setups, clean, good-looking, it doesn’t need anything else.

As a rider, the SuperLogic MTB handlebar. Super light, super beautiful.
