Tom and Martha Cycling in Italy and Switzerland

After visiting the Ritchey office in Lugano, Switzerland, Tom and Martha went around to the Italian side in the middle of Lake Como. They took a ferry across the lake to Bellagio and then rode the  up to the Madonna del Ghisallo to visit the cycling museum that holds some very coveted bikes, jerseys and some amazing statues. Tom and Martha spent the night in Riviera and left the next morning to get over to the Interlaken area which is considered “the center of the alps”. Jungfrau, the Iger, Grindelwald are all nearby. They rode the tandem from Meiringen over the Grosse Scheidegg: a 2000m steep climb. In the middle is one of the prettiest hotels and the Rosenlaui Glacier. Tom reports back that they definitely appreciated the disc brakes on the  for the decent (steep and long) into Grindewald. Previous years it was a struggle to get down with rim brakes. From there, they went around part of the right hand side of Interlaken. This route has some dirt and the tandem was the perfect tandem to do it on. It turned out to be a gorgeous five-and-a-half hour loop.
