Ritchey’s Tips for Bike To Work Week
Ride to work safer, smarter, and happier with these five simple tips.
At Ritchey, we fully support Bike to Work Week. Of course! Because cycling is better for our personal health, our community, and our planet. Many of us at Ritchey actually ride to the office ourselves. As such, we know a great commute starts with good habits and the proper gear, so here are five tips to help make your ride smoother and more enjoyable.

1) Mix Up Your Commute
Look at your riding as a daily reset. Change your route now and then, find a new side street, and let the commute keep your mind fresh and body agile.

2) Alert Riders Around You
Passing in silence is how close calls happen, or worse! A quick “hello” or even a bell lets other riders or pedestrians know what you're doing.

3) Be Seen on the Road
Rush hour traffic doesn't owe you anything, so the work of being seen is yours. Invest in some good lights, wear something bright, and make yourself easy to spot.

4) Pack a Reusable Bag
A musette bag rolls down to practically nothing and lives in your saddle bag until you need it. That's usually the day a quick stop turns into an armful of groceries.

5) Invest in a Good Helmet
The best helmet is the one you actually want to put on. Find one that fits your head and expresses your personality. Be safe and look good doing so.
